Thanks vr6galaxy. I will have a look in the morning. There is one part that is held on by torx screws but they are difficult to get into. The extension bar that comes with the torx set is too wide to go in far enough to reach to the screws. I don`t know what`s above there. Cheers anyway.

That sounds about right? undo the screws and the front of the panel should fold down revealing the rest of the relays and fuses, the one you want should be in there ;)

Well today I managed to drop the "fuse box" and look at the other level but it was all relays. I decided to have a good look at the fuses. There were one or two missing like one for the aux. air heater and fan lower speed one etc. Fitted them and now my front heated screen works. The thing is though the aux.heater and fan worked before, but there seem to be so many fuses that do the same thing as others. There are at least two for aux. air heater. :( Thank you for your help. I never did find any Maxi type fuses though but it works. Now I want some more frosty mornings when I am on night shift to show how good Galaxys are!

My S reg GLX TDI has them but precious little else as extras so it seems as if they should be standard. My driver's side has a replacement glass stuck onto the old, presumably broken, glass and nothing works on that so I am assuming a plug is out somewhere. The NS works fine and steams nicely and the old tub may be battered around the edges a bit but by no means a piece of sh@@.

Does anyone know how easy/impossible it is to add electric or heated door mirrors to a Gal that doesn't have them?

mikef

Would really need to the model and year? then check behind the door card or in the mirror bdy to see if the plugs, loom are there?

the only models not to have electric mirrors as standard are the Aspen and the LX so these may not have the loom in place to power the mirrors :(

My 2005 Galaxy Silver TDI 115 only has manual mirrors too

But you get the heated front screen and washer jets ;) IIRC it was discussed before and the outcome is that the Siver is an LX with a couple of more bits thrown in :P

Does anyone know a better way of prising the mirror glasses out? Mine seem to be largely inneffectual.

Haynes says use a rusty garden spade and a large doormat....there must be a better way?

Can I get at the mirror from behind, as it were, by taking off the plastic cowl? ...how? anyone done it?

Regards

Pop

it does have heated wing mirrors m8

they only work for about 30 secs from when you tunr the engine over so

it tells me in one of my manuals.

you can check to see if you have them by popping off the mirror glass

it's a simple clip fit

get your fingers into on side & pull

you shold seel a wire or 2 attatched

if they are not there then someone may have replace the glass at sometime with non heated ones as they are cheaper

i think the glass with the heating element is about

Hmmm, tempting offer, but the mirrors I already have would get jealous!
