If this has been covered before I am sorry - I did a search and didn't find an answer.

I have a new Galaxy Ghia TDi with dual air-con. My Aux Heater works a treat and I love the aircraft noise and smell while I scrape the ice in a morning....BUT.........

I just can't seem to get hot air out of the roof vents on rows 2 and 3. I get lovely warm air in the front, and also from the low level vents in the N/S panel where the heater is located. However with the 3rd row seats folded away and tonneau cover fitted this means that I have a lovely warm boot but my rearmost windows take an age to demist etc.

Are these roof mounted vents suppossed to blow warm in winter, or only cold in summer? Is there some trick to getting air to flow or do I need to borrow my kids Harry Potter spell book?

Thanks

In general, hot air rises, cold air falls, so injecting hot air at roof level is not such a good thing.

Usually I would agree with you, however the only other outlets from the rear heater are in the boot when I'm in 5 seat mode so this is not ideal either.

Hopefully someone will be along soon to tell me whether I have a fault or if this is by design.

Cheers

I have the full dual Climate control and my roof vents do not blow warm or hot. The heat comes from the front dash vents, the vent by the handbrake and the vents in the wheel arch bulges.

Once again my big mouth leads me in to trouble!!

I checked my vents today and despite what I said warm air does come out of the vents in the roof. I suppose I hadn't really checked it properly before - mainly I suspect because I never sit in the back!

Apologies for misleading anyone.

There's two outlets to the centre row of seats. One is between the front seats, and the rear heater blows under the centre row of seats. Have had three of these things (one Ford, trwo SEATs). No complaints about heating in winter. In summer even with only front air con, get complaits of too cold - the front glasshouse + dark windows in the back works well.

Now as to the speed of warming up with the booster heater u/s, well that's another matter

I'm finding that with the 3rd row seats folded up against row 2 and the tonneau cover in place that the rear heater is making a good job of heating the boot but doing little to warm row 2.

It's no major problem really, I guess that's just one of those things in life that we have to put up with.
