Masked Marauder Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 How old is your drive belt? Have you checked the PAS fluid level? Quote
Guest smurf Posted December 26, 2005 Report Posted December 26, 2005 finally had the money to get the 50k service done even though it was more 51k and the report was that the drive belt has been changed but the problem is still there so next thing to change is the tensioner as this was said to be red hot, still got a humming noise from engine and they believe it to be the air con unit? this was replaced by fords just over a year ago so i phoned them and got the reply that if they fitted the unit today and the warranty run out tommorow the unit would not be covered if it broke the day after!!!!!!!!! seems pretty piss poor if you ask me and this i told the ford dealer and was given ford motor company's number to see if they would cover it? not holding much hope but will try after the holiday period, just wondering if anyone else has had any problems with the air con units? dipsomaniac Posted December 26, 2005 Report Posted December 26, 2005 fords work should be guaranteed for one year. if they fitted a new air con compressor and it failed within a year they should replace it FOC. have just replaced my air con compressor - it was making a grinding sound. the company who supplied it guarantee it for 12 months.
