Guest simon1 Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 Hi can anyone help. I have a 52 VW Sharan and have changed the glow plug on the booster heater but still not kicking in. Any Ideas could it be a fuse and if so does anyone know where it would be located. Please Please help getting too cold!! :o Quote

jimjamjo Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 On sh*t you've caught me out :o There should be a 10 pin plastic plug connection if you follow the wire out of the booster. Stick a Quote
Ogben Schmutzel Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 jimjamjo, Where did you get this info from? Also you say Mk1, does it appy to the Mk2? Cheers.Oggy. Quote
jimjamjo Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 Ford TIS section 34-03 - the mk1 booster heater section. Does it work for the Mk2? - good question - I'd like to know if you can fit the mk2 in a mk1 and get the extra 2kw :o as I'm in an Igloo for 15mins every morning The mk2 section doesn't have the diagnostics but the unit looks very similar.... jimjamjo Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 I've had another look in TIS and the posh mk2 has a whole chapter dedicated to fault finding on the booster heater 412-02B. Oggy - pick up a TIS disc on eBay if you haven't got one already Cheers jimjamjo Quote

Jeff115 Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 Hi can anyone help. I have a 52 VW Sharan and have changed the glow plug on the booster heater but still not kicking in. Any Ideas could it be a fuse and if so does anyone know where it would be located. Please Please help getting too cold!! :o Hi Simon, You did not say why you changed the glow plug - a faulty glow plug e.g. open circuit, could have let to a fault being logged in the ECU which may now need to be cleared before booster will again fire with new glow plug. Was it working OK before you changed the plug?Regards,J. Quote
dave_m Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 some codes will need to be reset before the heater will attempt to fire up again, whereas some other minor faults reset with an ignition on/off Quote
Guest simon1 Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 Thanks jheater didnt work so change g/plug Quote
Guest simon1 Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 Hi Do i need to go to vw to ECU (fault) fix Quote
Masked Marauder Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 I doubt it. My heater restarted without the need to clear fault codes. Quote

nottelmann Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 i have the same problem of being unable to find the fuse mine is a 2000 mark 2 1.9 tdi ghia the glow plug seems fine I think it can be only the fuse, any help welcome Andy B Andy According to the German Galaxy/Sharan forum (and I can read a bit of German) the aux heater fuse is no 12 (at least on the facelifted models of the vehicle, from model year 2001 I understand)). No guarantee, but anyway should be quick to check if that fuse is ok. Hope this is of any help (while I am struggling to identify the right replacement glow plug for my Sharan 2002 heater) Jan Quote
