Guest stevew Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 Can anyone give us a clue ? When I reverse into a right hand bend , ( ie like when you reverse into a 't' junction to turn around & travel back down the road you've just come from ) , I sometimes get a thumping noise as though I've just reversed over a pile of bricks on the off side. Also about 1" on the inner offside tyres' getting exesivly worn. There's no obviouse play in any of the bushes or the offside bearing & the C.V. joint doesn't seem to have any wear . I've had it down to a local garage & they can't pinpoint any thing & can only sugest I get the tracking & geometry checked by a specialist useing lasers. There isn't the usual 'cracking' noise you expext from C.V. joints & it only gives a problem when reversing in that direction .! Quote
Richmond Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 This happened to me on Friday. Unfortunately I had reversed over a pile of bricks, in the form of a low retaining wall. The little damge done is a tribute to the Galaxy which is clearly designed to be driven by myopic halfwits (according to my wife). Quote
