It seems that one of the sensors stopped cooperating. But the original spare costs a fortune (90 pounds). Is there any brand, that makes them cheaper? Thanks. Klemen

the sensors are ultrasonic transducers( a transmitter and receiver in one) they are cheap to buy as components, not sure of the exact spec on the type used in the parking sensors though,

see the link below for details

Maplin electronics ultrasonic transducer

Can't believe the dealers want 90 quid for a new one!!!!

as far as im aware, there is nothing on the market, that will directly replace the parking sensors, you can either buy a kit, like Ivor E Tower has suggested, or use the balloon technique

I dont think them ones off maplin will work with this system. so, if you can track down a galaxy on the scrap heap, that has sensors (that work) you could go that way, maybe?

other wise, your going to have to pay

or nick some of an X5

I spent months trying to find anyone selling replacement parking sensors and eventually got one from a scrap yard only to discover a different sort of error - a long beep immediately upon putting it in reverse. Not got round to plugging in the vag com (BTW Sophos tells me Vag-com is a virus) so not sure if if this is another sensor down or what. How Ford get away with saking
