Guest klo8 Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 It seems that one of the sensors stopped cooperating. But the original spare costs a fortune (90 pounds). Is there any brand, that makes them cheaper? Thanks. Klemen Quote
bigdaddy Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 There is a guy on ebay selling them as a diy kit,,,,but dont know if the are compatable with your originals :P Quote

dave_m Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 the sensors are ultrasonic transducers( a transmitter and receiver in one) they are cheap to buy as components, not sure of the exact spec on the type used in the parking sensors though, see the link below for details Maplin electronics ultrasonic transducer Can't believe the dealers want 90 quid for a new one!!!! Quote
dipsomaniac Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 tie a balloon to the front and back bumpers. when parking, listen for a loud bang. on hear this - apply handbrake, alight from vehicle and go about business. Quote
Guest MATT Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 as far as im aware, there is nothing on the market, that will directly replace the parking sensors, you can either buy a kit, like Ivor E Tower has suggested, or use the balloon technique   I dont think them ones off maplin will work with this system. so, if you can track down a galaxy on the scrap heap, that has sensors (that work) you could go that way, maybe? other wise, your going to have to pay   or nick some of an X5 MATT  Quote
Guest MATT Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 i think ive seen a good "kit" in halfords, but cant remember how much they are. MATT Quote

fedupwithjunk Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 I spent months trying to find anyone selling replacement parking sensors and eventually got one from a scrap yard only to discover a different sort of error - a long beep immediately upon putting it in reverse. Not got round to plugging in the vag com (BTW Sophos tells me Vag-com is a virus) so not sure if if this is another sensor down or what. How Ford get away with saking Quote
turk90210 Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 well for what it is worth last time i had a problem with my parking sensors i did a lot of searching to no avail and not wanting to pay stealer prices i purchased off ebay some sensors for a rover (75 I think) a deal not to turn your nose up at I think it was 3 sensors for Quote
