Rear Suspension Bushes On A 2001 Mondeo

I have a 2001 Mondeo which clunks over all the bumps, Ford say the complete rear suspension subframe needs relacing at high expense. However, they have just bought out a bush kit, which I have also seen on eBay for

On a car that new, I find it hard to believe that the entire rear subframe is knackered. Where/when do you get the knocking noise? It might just be the front roll bar drop links.

No its not the whole subframe its the bushes held in the subframe, which until 6 weeks ago were not available separately, ie you had to replace the entire subassembly with bushes in situ.

 

The car is a taxi and has 125k. Ford have said it is a very common fault on these cars which is why they have bought out a bush kit recently.
