jimjamjo Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Hi I'm about to reattach the rear view mirror for the 3rd time. Any tips please? I've got one of those black sticky pads from Frauds - will that do the job? Thanks Paul Quote
johnb80 Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Maybe, maybe NOT. I found a kit made by loctite (bought from halfrauds I think). It had a small mesh and a couple of tubes. Cut the mesh to size, mix the gunge, spread over the mesh and put the mirror on the screen. In took about a minute to grab and that was the last time I had to refit the mirror, i'd tried all sorts of pads before without success. The loctite stuff UV cures over 24 hours or so but is useable with care within 1 hour. Regards - John Quote
jimjamjo Posted November 17, 2005 Author Report Posted November 17, 2005 Thanks I'll definitely give it a try. My Fiesta mirror had one of those black stickers holding it one and it's just fallen off. The Galaxy mirror weighs about twice that of the Fiesta one so it's got no chance with a black sticker. Quote
Masked Marauder Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 I will vouch for the mesh kit. I have used that in the past. Quote
Guest MATT Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 i accidentally knocked my rear view off once (this is my old galaxy) nothing would glue it back on, so in the end, frauds did it lol, to be fair, they did a good job, and only charged me for the glue. MATT Quote
