Could me having the windows tinting to 90% reduce the radio recetion. I have a kenwood after market head unit that was ok, but now with tints it has lost almost all radio reception. Any ideas.

The radio aerial is in the back driver's side window. Perhaps when the window was tinted they disturbed the connection at the top of the window.

The aerial also needs a 12v supply down the aerial cable using a special adaptor. It is built into the factory spec units but may not be present on your Kenwood.

thanks for the fast reply, i have ordered an inline 12v adapter to boost the signal and have checked the connection on the back window. Should arrive tommorow and i will post results... Oh on a side line tryied the add heater this morning and with a cough or two it billowed out blue smoke then fired, was toasty by 5 mins later. (shame i had just got a vag-com to test it)
