1.9tdi Ford Galaxy2001 Engine Oil

hi sorry to be a pain in the butt but can someone plz tell me the best grade of oil for a 1,9tdi galaxy 2001 model as i am getting so many suggestions, it has 92,000 miles to her and ford has told me 5/30 and to be honest i find it a little thin for a diesel and also wery light what are your opinions on this plz many thanks

If its a PD then 5W40 either Millers XFE-PD 5W40 (to vw 505.01 spec or Formula SD 5W40, available from the parts dept. of the larger Ford dealers

Goto the millers we site and get your local stockist buy it from there

really - my ford dealer always uses 'formula sd' and thay give me the extra 0.5l in the original container, this way I can be reasonably sure they haven't over filled it and I can top up between services

As Nickpv, look for the vw505.01 spec. My local ford dealer is selling SD 5W40 for 21.99 (I think). Not sure if this is a local or national promotion.

Castrol Edge 5W40 for diesels is approved to VW505.01, and has replaced Castrol 505.01 (probably just a name change).
