Guest dross Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 My electric windows are currently blowing through the fuse. I replaced the drivers side switch a few months ago without incident, then just recently the windows stopped working. Thinking the switch was to blame I got another one, but it continues to burn through the fuse if I leave it in place. It would seem like a short circuit somewhere, but where? Or might it be something else? Anybody suffering or suffered the same problem? Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 In line. If a new fuse blows as soon as you fit it, there must be a short somewhere, and the most likely place is in the flexible part of the loom between the door and the vehicle body.Had this problem with the rear wiper power lead on a previous car. Ventoux Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 I agree with Fred and Ivor. I have the same problem, just going to uncover the door next weekend. I can even see one torn off wire in the rubber boot There was well transparent explanation of Fred "how to remove the door panel". Let me just small question, what does it mean "philips headed screw"?? V. Quote
Ventoux Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Thanks Fred, yes posi drive I understand. It seems to me that the door panel has two parts (upper and lower), I am right or not? If not, it is one piece only, does it mean a necessity to remove the inner door handle? V. Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 You have new face-lifted Galaxy, OK? Door trim panel is one piece. We need to check TIS CD to see if handle has to be removed or if you can move the panel around the handle....... Quote
Ventoux Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 The handle seems to be really at the to of the panel, but I do not see any screw around the handle. It is rear door, yes facelifted. Quote
