Guest NewbieGalaxyOwner Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 I've been buying SAT NAV and DVD Multimedia parts over the past 6 months to upgrade my Galaxy and Focus but i have to bite the bullet and say i dont have time to complete any these projects. Not to mention a prod in the back from the wife along the way to clear the utility room. So rather than these units collect dust and never be used i am reluctantly going sell these parts on eBay. Guest thobbs Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 I currently have a 2004 Galaxy with the DVD/screen stuff, but I would really like to find out what is involved with adding SAT/NAV to car, basically I want it to look like a factory-fit options, so which of the SATNAV units is normally fitted by Ford? Also how much am I looking at - and you would possibly know what else do I need to make it fit? Quote
Guest NewbieGalaxyOwner Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 As far as i am aware the VNR9000 would fit into any older galaxy without any modification. The cabling in included with the MFD to retro fit any older galaxy as the connections are VW/Audi. The MFD "should" fit any new shape galaxy as they have the newer VW/AUDI connections but dont quote me on this, maybe somebody reading this could confirm this. Have a look through the forums im sure all your questions can be answered easily. Quote
johnb80 Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 How about a price for the whole lot then? Give us an idea? Regards - John Quote

To retro fit the Ford Sat Nav in mk2 you have to do the following; Replace the complete centre fascia and all blanking plates and switches.YES the fascia needs replacing as the SATNAV is about 20mm bigger than the 6000 RDSInstall a new wiring loom adaptor and GPS ariel (From Ebay)And connect the speed sensor wire / gala (Purple Wire) The MK2 DOESN'T have the VW/Audi Radio loom its the crap FORD one.So you need an adaptor to convert that too. Guest NewbieGalaxyOwner Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Loom and GPS aerial supplied in this kit Not sure if you have to replace the switches and blanking plates, as i have seen pictures of a dealer installed unit and there is no difference. Quote
dulux72 Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 i have seen pictures of a dealer installed unit and there is no difference. I have just done this retro fit and there is a difference in my mk2 galaxy The double din hole was approx 20mm too small and the switches were a different shape. It may look the same but trust me its not. The parts are available from the stealers for Quote
Guest NewbieGalaxyOwner Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Thanks for that stand corrected, it still chaper than getting this factory fitted from your local Fraud dealer, thanks for the posting. Quote
