Guest andeee Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Has anyone any suggestions for repainting the interior door handles? The rubberised paint has pealed off all mine to a greater or lesser degree depending on use. Drivers side isn't too bad because the plastic underneath is dark in colour but the passenger side looks awful because the plastic is alot lighter than the paint. Quote
Guest MATT Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 my drivers side have deep scratches and everything, paint missing, i think the previous owner must of weared lots of BLING BLING jewellery. MATT  Quote
corskey Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Pop alaong to your local SEAT dealer and buy ones for the Octavia - they are not painted, so you'll never have the problem again. Quote
Guest andeee Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 I've looked at the possibility of replacing them, a pair of brand new ones went for about Quote
El Dingo Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 It happens on Audis too, if that's any comfort. Many of the MPV specialists seem to keep stocks of these for Galaxy/Alhambra/Sharan - maybe they are made by an OEM, so you could try German and Swedish? Part no.s for Sharan are 7M3 or 7M4 867 171 and 172 (depends n/s, o/s, front, rear, how many switch holes). There are three versions on the Sharan - light beige, flannel grey and anthractite - maybe anthracite is unpainted??? I don't have SEAT part numbers. Try these numbers at G&S and let me know how you get on. Looks easy enough to change. I guess painting would be good if you can get all the old coating off first... Quote

Ivor_E_Tower Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Not everything on e-bay is cheap, always always check out the actual retail prices before buying Ahhh too true ! Been trying to pick up a spare mobile phone and the prices of used, unwarranted (often locked to 1 network) exceed those for an unlocked new one, fully warranted, from the Carphone Warehouse Also trying to pick up a cheal laptop for work and same problem - can get a warranted professionally refurbished one locally for less than the price that most unwarranted private sales fetch on e-bay.
