redstar Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 This all started with a flashing glow plug. Checked brake lights and they were not working. Removed the switch from the brake pedal and cleaned all the contacts and put it back together and yippee my high level brake light was working but no other brake lights. The glow plug has now stopped flashing. I have checked all the bulbs there ok. Can anyone help. I have also noticed that 2 of the high level bulbs have now stopped working. Thanks in advance ;) Quote
chromedome Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 I've read on other threads that cleaning the brake light switch is not very succesful. I believe the switch is only around Quote
redstar Posted November 4, 2005 Author Report Posted November 4, 2005 If its the switch how come ive got some brake lights, dont understand it. Quote
Masked Marauder Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 I think your problem goes beyond the switch. I would be looking for broken wires and bad earths. Quote
redstar Posted November 5, 2005 Author Report Posted November 5, 2005 Where do i start checked the back lights for broken wires  Quote
graemer Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Buy a new switch!! Same happened to me - removed switch and got plunger working. Refitted and only high level brake light was working.Don't waste any more of your valuable time- buy the switch and I am sure you will find like me that all works again. Rubbish parts I'm afraid all trying to do several jobs at once. Quote
redstar Posted November 9, 2005 Author Report Posted November 9, 2005 Hi, Replaced switch still no lights only the hi level brake can anyone suggest were to start with bad earths. Thanks in advance. Quote

Bobboash Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 I had the same problem last week, high level ok, normal lights dead. I changed the bulbs and all brake lights are now working, however since then I now have the flashing glow plug warning light coming on which is puzzling (the brake switch was changed a year ago so I can't see that being faulty already) Quote
