dipsomaniac Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 I don't know if this is coincidence but car was hit yesterday on the offside rear wheel. Tyre and alloy was damaged along with a scuff mark on rear door/wheel arch. OK if you really want to know........... The girl was on the wrong side of the road hanging out of the window looking back waving to her boyfriend when she hit me. The CD player is now not working and is showing an error 5. Does anyone know what this error is and if it is likely to have been caused by the girl in the BMW??? Quote
GSMGuy Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 I had this a couple of times on my 2006... Put it down to dodgy cdr's..... Mike Quote
chromedome Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 I could be that the impact has knocked the cd lens out of alignment. I assume you are claiming against her, therefore, insist on a replacement CD changer. Quote
johnb80 Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 And of course the damage to the cabling has caused problems with the head unit, replace the whole lot just to be safe  Regards - JB Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 I get this from time to time on mine - just undo the 2 fixing screws holding the CD changer in, unplug the eletrical multi-plug, wait a couple of minutes, plug back in and re-fix the screws. If it still doesn't work, then it has been damaged by shock from the accident. Quote

dipsomaniac Posted November 4, 2005 Author Report Posted November 4, 2005 Thanks for the replies. She has now admitted liability and her insurance company is now sorting my car out. Good news, as it will save me Quote
Masked Marauder Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 We currently have one at work where one of our trucks was reversing and touched a stationary car, the 4 occupants of which are now suffering extreme pain through whiplash and the driver is now so terrified to drive that he is reduced to using public transport. We have there addresses, or investigators will no doubt be staking out if they continue the charade of claiming. Quote
