El Dingo Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 Wierd... got any other symptoms? Such as vibration, clunking, knocking noise on full lock, etc? Is yours a 2.3? These are prone to engine mount problems. :( Quote
Guest coxy134 Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 no they didnt do 2.3 in the sharan no vibration, cv joints seem ok as does intermediate bearing, just a rumbling noise Quote
Guest coxy134 Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 found the problem!!!!! LOOSE WHEEL NUTS???!!!!!!!!!! DAFT OR WHAT???? Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 Nope! been there done that, and threatened to punch the mechanics lights out after I found the problem and he didnt! and he originally took the wheels off and replaced them during a service, and then reported the noise to me after a test drive saying that the the drive shafts, CV's had gone :( Quote
Guest j_mchattie Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 I wonder how much money this site has saved people. I mean, VR6 - If you had just taken his word for it (and weren't a hands-on person), youd be well out of pocket. Damn, the mechanic might not have even done the work, just tightened the nuts up over a cup of coffee. The amount of gimps with wrenches calling themselves 'Mechanics' - its de-graded the profession.
