Guest ajc Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 I have a 110TDI Galaxy which loses power intermittently, most often when trying to accelerate uphill doing about 60mph. It is almost as if a switch has been flicked and the acceleration ceases. The car then has very little acceleration thereafter but returns to normal after having been switched off for a couple of hours. Any ideas? Quote
paulmpaciorek Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 Sounds like "that old devil called MAF again". Has been covered many times before...put in a search and all will be revealed !!! Quote
Guest ajc Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 I did wonder about that but the last time I had a MAF failure, the symptoms were rather different. The power never seemed to come back fully but this time, it comes back after a couple of hours with the engine switched off. Quote
wytonpjs Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 See my earlier posts on resettable intermittent power loss. Despite some good advice and help from SeatKid and GSMGuy I still have not got to be bottom of my problems. I spent the earlier part of the week shed-dragging again and the fault did not reoccur! GSMGuy has solved his problem - he's sold his Galaxy! Good Luck Quote
