montymousey Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 Hello all. The heating and ventelation / air con has a problem which I was hoping someone could assist me on. When I switch on the ignition the display flashes 15 times to tell me of a malfunction. the said malfunction is that the front booster fan does not work. I have checked the current to the fan and there is none pointing to a blown fuse or faulty relay. the fuses are ok but relays I cannot find! There are none in the designated areas. I'm stumpted. Can any body please help? Thanks for looking. Montymousey. Quote
Guest marcusheawood Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 ...Is there a 30A fuse right at the top (head right down in the footwell then look up), is it blown? Quote
montymousey Posted October 24, 2005 Author Report Posted October 24, 2005 Thanks for the fuse suggestion. I,ve taken all the fuse box covers off, stood on my head and looked up but can't see any other fuses. Thanks anyway. Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 It may help if you let us know the year of your Galaxy? the fuse boards are slightly different depending on the year? when you checked the currant to the fan motor was it on full blast or one of the low speeds? Quote
montymousey Posted October 24, 2005 Author Report Posted October 24, 2005 It's a 2000 model with climate control. (I called it a heating and vent. system in my first post) I tried to take a reading in both the full speed and resisted position but my multi meter just read zero. Quote
Topbloke Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 sounds like possible resistor faulty Quote
bigdaddy Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 My display for heating flashes as well,,,,, is there a set amount of flashes to count for a fault code,,,,,if so does any one know what they are,,,, Quote
montymousey Posted October 25, 2005 Author Report Posted October 25, 2005 Thanks for your suggestion topbloke. Wouldn't I still have top speed if the resister was at fault? And thank you bigdaddy although I don't quite understand how you answer helps me with my problem. Quote
