Hi

We have had our Galaxy 2 days and had our first problem.

when we first got the gallaxy the central locking would only work from the drivers door and would only lock/unlock drivers door, fuel cap cover and tailgate global opening and closing also worked from this position.

Today the central locking has changed it will now do the above from the drivers door and tailgate and also lock and unlock all doors however there is nothing with the passenger side door key position. not abig problem but strange.

One of the first things we checked when we got this vehicle was the wetness in the passenger footwell which as per normal was wet but not flooded, Next was the central locking/alarm ECU under the passenger seat which had no signs of any water damage either around or in the unit which was unplugged and removed to check, After reconnecting ECU the car would not start until we tried the red key in the ignition this is obviously a security procedure. at this point the central locking was still in its first partially operating mode as stated at the top of this post.

However tonight the wife took the car out to do some shopping and after getting back in the car she locked the doors using the internal drivers handle and tried to start but the galaxy was getting ignition lights and nothing else. i went to her assistance armed with the red key thinking that that might help but it did not start the car.

I should add that after locking herself in and then inserting the ignition key the red light on drivers door started flashing and was the same with the red key.

I finally got the car to start after disconnecting the battery and waiting 3 minutes then reconecting. has this happened to anyone else or can anyone shed any light on this little problem.

BTW the disconnect and wait 3 mins is a procedure we are told to use at work for any fault we get on a bus and 9 times out of 10 it actually works god knows how waiting 3 mins with power off is going to fix a flat tyre but believe it or not the radio controllers will say that to every fault message received over the radio LOL

any way thanks in advance for any help on this problem

ask a fried that's got a gal to use their ecu unit from under

the passengr's seat.

if it's no diffrence then you have illiminated one

option

also

put the ecu unit in an airing cupboard

for 24 hours to make sure it dries out

that sometimes works

it maybe damp not wet

i hope this is of some sort of help

make sure the scuttles are clear

unscrew the under wheel cover

no need to remove it

put ur hand up toward the wing indicator

& you should feel a rubber flap

pop ur fingers into it & clear it

do the same on the drivers side but be careful as there are wires

on the drivers side
