My 1996 2.0 Galaxy failed tne mot on emissions.

I had the cat & lamba sensor changed thinking that would send it though.

But no it still has high emissions.

It's a 1996 car and had a new ford engine 30,000 miles ago and this is all it failed on.

Any idea what it could be ?

Thanks

How high were the emissions, how long since last oil change and air filter.

But i asked the garage to do a oil & filter as well as the mot.

It's now gone to a ford dealer to see if they can find whats wrong.

Did you use an OE lamba sensor or an after market one? there have been several post about the wrong lamba sensor being fitted and the emmisions being high afterwards!

Thanks for the reply

I had a after market one fitted (unipart)

They said theres 4 different ones.

1 wire,2 wire,3 wire,4 wire.

So there was a 4 wire on there and the a new 4 wire went back on there.

Is there any way to test the lamba sensor.?

...this is a normal shalaxy ownership experience...

Take car to stealer, stealer doesn't fix car, stealer still charges an absurd amount of money for nothing.

Welcome to our world, if you've any sense you'll NEVER take your car to a dealer again.

Now surf these forums and start solving your own problems, it'll cost you far less money.

I would conservatively estimate that I save at least
