Guest EVSS Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 hope you good people can help as this one is driving the wife crazy. galaxy drives fine, but every time you use the accellerator pedal it emits a sound like escaping air (or could be vacuum). if you touch the brakes as well the sound pauses. the noise is there all the time the pedal is used whether just resting your foot on it or pressing it. there is no decrease in braking or faults with the cruise control. any ideas. its a tdi auto by the way as per profile. thanks gary  Quote
Justice Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 Sounds like vac hose to the servo maybe leaking and when you are braking it is taking the air it needs hence the hiss stops. Quote
Guest EVSS Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 at the moment i am laid up with a back injury ,so the wife is dealing with it (pretty well at moment)she has taken the underpanel off and found that the rubber behind the pedal wasnt in correctly , this appears to have reduced the noise to nearly zero. she has also tightened up the arm rest and changed the bulb in the auto box selector.(makes me feel redundant now  Quote
