mike99 Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 I'm looking at buying a set of mats and seatcovers for my 99 galaxy.Has anyone purchased some from ebay? theres a company selling mat sets at Quote
JDF Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 Hi Mike99, I think I got a set of floor mats from them in dark blue a little while ago. The main down side is that only the drivers side mat has a quick release screw to anchor them to prevent the mat moving. All mats have a rough rubberised backing which does help them from slipping, but have found the ones in the back do creep slightly. The middle one fits reasonably well around the floor air vent, therefore doesn't move significantly. But the very back one for seats 6 & 7 is a bit on the small side, it could do with being deeper. It's also the one that moves around the most as its just rectangular in shape - would be better if extended under the middle seats. It's probably not helped by my 2 & half year old who likes to climb about in the car when ever he gets the chance.....For me they do what I want & help protect the original carpet.Bottom line is they are good for the price & much cheaper than Ford's!!!JDF. tim-spam Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 I bought an ex-dealer stock carpet mat set from ebay for just over Quote
Rallim Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 The middle and rear mats cover the whole load area That sounds good, my rear seat mats are only a strip in front of the seats. For the load area I have a generic plastic boot protecter which I've cut slots out of for the rear seats to locate through. Gordon. Quote
delboyt Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 if you buy the single rear carpetthat covers the whole reaer from fords itwill cost you Quote
mike99 Posted October 4, 2005 Author Report Posted October 4, 2005 guess I'll be keeping an eye on ebay for some genuine ones then. Quote

~adema~ Posted November 26, 2005 Report Posted November 26, 2005 Hi guys Took my Gal in for some paint repairs last week, when i went to pick her up, there was also a Mk2 in the workshop. I stood chatting to the guy who owns the place, who told me that the Mk2 belonged to T C Harrison and that it was going to auction in a few days time. He said he had noticed the mats in my Gal (just 4 normal car mats, 2 in the front and 2 in the middle row).He said he would take the proper mats out of the Mk2 and put them to one side for me, went and collected them yesterday, fit a treat. Even threw in the securing screws. Full set of quality galaxy mats for chuff all :D Nothin like a freebie!!...lol. ~adema~ Quote
