The delivery of my new Galaxy is getting close, and having never owned a Ford before I need some dealer advice.

Can anyone recommend a dealer in my area. I live between Wolverhampton & Telford, but would travel a little to get decent service.

I work in Tamworth so that's another option.

Thanks

I have been told that the Ford dealer in wombourne has a good reputation, just follow the road from Himley house to Bridgnorth for about 3 miles.

I have not used them myself but people I know have and I have not heard any of them complain.

My relationship with Wombourne Ford has now deteriorated.

3 visits to try to fix the booster heater only resulted in water leaking from the booster. The car has been taken in to another dealer and diagnosed that new sensors are required and that the water pipe had been trapped when refitting the booster and this damaged the rubber hose causing the leak.

Fords and the other dealer have NO warranty history on computer despite my car having been to Wombourne Ford for:

Booster

  • Heater (3 visits)
  • Brake Failure
  • Door Seal (3 visits)
  • Window trim replacement

It appears they have never submitted claims or updated the Ford computer system so when I told the new dealer that it had been in 3 times for the booster I think they all thought I was lying about how the damage had been caused. It took Ford customer services to ring Wombourne Ford to clarify the situation (only after much heated discussion with me).

So my vehicle will visit Wombourne Ford no more.

Oh and by the way their Certificate of Employers Liability Insurance displayed in the service dept ran our in Jan 2005.

Ford insisted Wombourne repair their damaged pipe as it was not covered by warranty so it went back in on Friday - the pipe they had ordered was wrong and didn't fit so they "repaired" the original by cutting the end of as "it was leaking from the end" and refitting.

Monday morning I was back as it still leaks and the booster still doesn't work.

They even suggested I take it to a "main dealer" as they are not confident they can fix my booster - but I can't until they fix the leak which they used "special tape" on to effect a temporary repair while we wait for parts. They also told me that it's because the car is basically a VW that causes so many servicing issues.

So I would not recommend them for Galaxy work.
