Ventoux Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 Hi folks, I have Galaxy 1,9TDi manufactured in 2001 (new version). I bought it recently as second hand. The seat heating for the front seat does not work and the problem is obviosly in the seat iteself. Does anyone idea how difficult is to repair it? I guess there should be a heating coil inside.... Does exist a manual for the new model of Galaxy? I understand that Haynes stopped already to publish any car manuals. In such case one is not able to repair anything himself... Thanks for reactions Ventoux Quote
HJT Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 You need to get hold of a copy of the Ford TIS CD. Do a search on Ebay and you will find it quite easily. It is very useful as it's the manual the Ford garages use. Howard Quote
Nick Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 The seat heaters come in 'pads'. 1 for the bottom and 1 for the back. easy to check them withan ohm meter. Don't know about costs. Quote
Ventoux Posted July 28, 2003 Author Report Posted July 28, 2003 Yes Nick, you are right, there are two heating pads. But I am pretty sure they are connected in serial, not parallel. How difficult is get them out? Is it really nasty work? V. Quote
Guest NigelP Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Did you ever get an answer to the question about replacing the heating pads? I think I have the same issue with the driver's side heating not working. Diagnosis has unfortunately led me to the pads. Quote
Topbloke Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 i have changed them on various vauxhall and they are complete b******s to do and get the seat material to look like normal,my advice would be to find a seat trimmer via yellow pages :( Quote
