mike99 Posted September 28, 2005 Report Posted September 28, 2005 I was looking under the galaxy today and I noticed some sort of heater in front of the near side rear wheel. I'm guessing its for the rear passenger compartment? How do you switch it on? couldn't find much in the handbook.Mike. Quote

mike99 Posted September 29, 2005 Author Report Posted September 29, 2005 I've had a read throught the other threads, I can't find anything about how to switch it on? Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 You don't! unless you have a manual timer fitted? it only works when the ambient temp is low (10/12C) and the coolant is cold, it's primery function is to add heat to the engine coolant to speed up the warming up process and to add heat to heaters in the car in low temperatures, you can how ever trick it into life by shorting out the temperature sensor on the scuttle! Guest vr6galaxy Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 No it's only really needed on TDI's although for a short period it was fitted to the VR6 models and was an option available to all models :D Quote
johnb80 Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 is this fitted to all galaxy's? I have a 98 2.8V6 Ghia X..... does mine have it? Probably not, you guys burn so much fuel with such inefficiency yours warm up in milliseconds compared to the oil burners. I've done 2- miles plus and still not reached running temp when the ambient temp has been around 13 deg or so. Regards - JB Quote
