Justice Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 Just wondering if it is posible to alter the gear change in relation to the speed I am doing. If I drive normal the box is smooth and quietIf I floor it it red lines in each gear going into top at just over the tonWhat I would like is to floor the throttle but have the gearbox change at 5500rpm instead of red lining as I do not feel this is good for the engine. Is it possible Quote
MrT Posted September 28, 2005 Report Posted September 28, 2005 What you want to do would require the electronics chipping and I don't know if you are able to do this. If you are concerned about the wear on your engine why drive in that manner, after all it is a people carrier, not a sports car? Quote
johnb80 Posted September 28, 2005 Report Posted September 28, 2005 Move it across to manual mode, you can then make it change when you want or change it for a diesel it doesn't rev anywhere near that high! Regards - John Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted September 28, 2005 Report Posted September 28, 2005 OH! the joys of a manual box  shift a gear when you want to not when the car decides it wants to  you could try restting the ECU! you know the one called Fuzzy that lives under the bonnet  dis the battery for a couple of hours and allow the present set parameters to be deleted and then when you drive off Fuzzy will have to relearn your driveing style and adjust to match! he wont do what you want 5.5K shifts under heavy throttle though as its not in his program! if you want that? do as Jb80 says stick it into manual mode and shift it up when you want to? but then again does your's have that function?
