Even The Dealer Is Stumped

I have an annoying knocking coming from the front of my Gal after reading about the anti-roll bar bush problems on here i took her back to the dealer ansd sure enough they found the bush on the passanger side was worn and replaced it

I took the car home (the dealer is on the outskirts of the next town and the noise is only heard at low speeds) and when i came down the lane to our house the knock was still there. I went into the house and phoned the dealer and procceded

to give them what for for not checking both sides as I assumed the other side was knocking but they assured me that they had checked both sides

They asked me to take the car back but after two hours of checking and road tests when they could clearly hear the noise they could not pinpoint where it was coming from.

They are now wanting the car back to fit remote microphones to try to find where the noise is coming from

Anyone out there had this problem? any help would be appreciated

The noise occurs at no more than about 28 mph and over roughish surfaces

I'm no technical expert and the anti-roll car things might be the same as the drop-links but, if not, here goes:

 

I had my drop links go at 10k. Knocked over uneven road surfaces and most noticable up to around 35mph.

 

Dealer replaced both under warranty - Ford seem to have more robust ones now.

 

Might help you - might not. But I tried :D

drops had the same for me

changed & all sorted now

 

i got this blooming metal tapping from the tailgate now

good process of ellimmination would be to remove the antiroll bar links completely then roadtest, if noise go's then it could actually be the antiroll bar bushes themselves these wrap around the rollbar and attach it to the subframe assembly

Had my drop links replaced for the second time at 30,000 service. Now have an annoying knock/rattle from within front passenger door :D but it's not there all the time.

Our last Gal had a rattle from inside the pass. door it turned out to be a broken spring washer
