Infra Red Or Radio Wave Remote ?

I have a r reg 1997 galaxy which does'nt have a red remote key

 

1st is the remote infra red or radio wave ??

 

2nd if i was to get a remote key can it be programed as o dont have

the original key infact i have 1 key with the light on the fob

and 2 standard keys

 

any help would be great

No such thing! RED master key , yes but not remote

 

1. early models were I/R check above the rear view mirror and rear hatch for the I/R recievers

 

2. if you have the recievers and all the electronics in working order? there should be no reason why you shouldnt be able to program in the remote key, BUT you will need the new key programmed into the PATS system which requires the RED master key or connection to the FDS2000 to program in the key

No, they are mounted next to the rear view mirror and on the tailgate
