Guest yxalaG Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 Hi everyone, Well, I finally figured out that I do not have an alarm. I managed to locate a new central locking ECU for a third of the price of Ford, and after fitting it, I was so glad to see my little light on the door flashing I then tried to follow the instructions for reprogramming the key, but alas, it will not go into "programming mode" (the little light should stay on I assume) I made sure all my doors were locked, unlocked the car, turned the key three times (to the unlock position) and held it for 1/2 second each time, but no constant red light! Actually, I tried 3, 5 , and 10 times! but still no good I thought all my troubles would be over once I got a new ECU, but that's not so! what are the list of problems I am faced with now? any ideas from you guys would be really appreciated. thanks. Guest EVSS Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 if its any help it took me about three hours to get ours into programming mode, and that was after the ford dealer gave up. just keep trying. Quote
