Ivor_E_Tower Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 I think I am beginning to understand. I'll use a proper Allen Key tomorrow and move it around the slots until I get to the one that does the job. You'll have fun !!! All the allen bolt heads are "false" - the centre trim just clips in - you need to use any one allen bolt head to lever the trim out, against the spring. The "supplied" special tool, loop of wire, goes through one allen bolt hole, then you manipulate it behind the trim go get better leverage. Quote
Guest blatters Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Cleaned the Galaxy today. Fantastic day here in SE Scotland. Managed to get the farmyard muck off the outside and have done our best to get it off the inside to - boy, that dampness and gunge really starts to fester!!!!! Anyway, in all my hard work, forgot to have another go on the hubs. I'll have a go tomorrow. Thanks everyone. But just one point, wasn't the idea of the 'special' tool that you did not need to then stick a screwdriver in to lever the things off? I'll be back tomorrow from this complex task. Blatters  Quote
toneinblack Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 My ghia has the special tool but its the 2 pronged version ( u shaped piece of coathanger type wire ) and on my ghia wheels it has a small grove that i just slide the tool in and lever it off , I must have earlier ghia wheels as i dont have any allen key type slots on it. Guest blatters Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 My dealer has confirmed that they will refurb the wheels at no cost to us. That's a relief and fair. Blatters Quote
Denis Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 I've just picked mine up from the dealers, they've refurbished the wheels at their expense so another success story. The spray that's been used has a slight grey tint which doesn't quite match the centre caps but I think it's going to be a more durable alternative to the original lacquer finish. http://www.timetriallingforum.co.uk/style_emoticons/default/Thumbup.gif Quote
