The ABS light won't go out after stating up as normal, ABS definitely not working, tried it in a deserted car park; wheels locked up beautifully. I

Not necessarily; depends on what it is. Could just be a wheel rotation sensor on the way out, or a dirty connection somewhere.

Should be possible for a dealer or possibly an independent to interrogate the ABS system for fault codes.

Thanks Ivor.

 

I've scanned thro the ABS threads so I'll try checking the impedance of each wheel sensor.

 

It's booked in for a service at the end of the week so Ford'll diag the problem, maybe?

Most alerts can be reset by disconnecting the battery or pulling the right fuse.

Could be worth unplugging and replugging in all the wheel sensor leads/connections, then pulling the fuse and see if the light stays out...
