Guest Scott Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 I've just approached my Galaxy from the rear - and noticed the tyres are round 'opposite' ways...Ie the nearside tyre has the tread going forward (on the outside edge of the wheel), while the offside has it going backwards.Seems wrong to me, but I'm prepared to listen to experts (someone from that well known chain?) If they are wrong, which way round should they be? (Dunlop 2020's) ~ Scott Quote
Guest Scott Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Just looked with a torch & can't see any - but I'll look in daylight tomorrow ~ Scott Quote
Guest Scott Posted March 7, 2003 Report Posted March 7, 2003 Checked Dunlop's site & it's not a fix direction tyre - a diagram there is useful in showing you what these things look like: http://www.dunloptyres.co.uk/site/tyres/ca...dewallMarkings/ ~ ScottNB. I've also learned how to spell asymmetric... Quote
Guest sgould Posted March 7, 2003 Report Posted March 7, 2003 There is nothing wrong with your tyres. They are not asymetrical and they are not directional. They will look the same whichever way you mount them on the wheel. Look at the tyres again the pattern will go down on the right hand side and up on the left. Look again from the front and they will still go down on the right and up on the left. If you don't believe me, take the spare off and compare it in all directions. Quote
Guest Scott Posted March 7, 2003 Report Posted March 7, 2003 Yep, I spotted this when I looked this morning! ~ Scott Quote

Masked Marauder Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 something thats got me with these tyres....... what way is the spare :) As they are probably worn out by now I don't think it matters. This thread is 2 1/2 years old you know....... But the answer is you drive at reduced speed until you can get them the right way. Quote
