Cv Joint Cause Abs Light To Stay On ?

Galaxy just failed mot cos the abs light did'nt work but got that sorted and now stays on all the time while the ignition is on , been told by mot station its due the the abs ring on the cv joint is this true ???? replace that and all should be fine they said

 

 

also can someone tell me if my car has a cambelt or timing chain its a 20i 1997

There have been instances of the ABS ring coming detached from the CV joint.

light should come on with the ignition, self test then go out, if it then comes on when driving then most likely a sensor problem if it stays on after ignition on then it has found a fault not related to a sensor . there has been many posts on this subject you could try a search !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tryed a search and no results im being told

 

just got a new cv joint with the abs ring havin if fitted thursday this week

so i will know if the problem with the abs light is due to the cracked abs ring on at the mo

My Transit went in for an MOT and failed on the abs light not working so I just wired it up to the fuel light after the mot I changed it back,

New cv joint fitted and all ok now longer do the abs light stay on fantastic

so car passed mot now
