hi all ,

 

wife has just pointed out :-

 

on her '99 1.3 ka the fuel guage with ign. off settles at one point ,

 

when car is started the guage goes down a few mill !!

 

is this normal or is there a fault ?? :angry:

 

and which would be the correct reading ( i know theres not a lot in it ) if

 

no fault ??

I do notice the needle 'fluctuates' a little while driving, esp when taking corners but I'll check it out and get back to you.

My Fiesta did this, and my Mondeo does it too.

 

As does my brothers Mondeo and so did my Fathers Sierra.

 

Im afraid thats the way it is. As for fluctuating on corners, its because the fuel sensor isnt in the middle of the tank. Its at one side and only gives a good reading when standing still on a flat surface. The guage dampner is supposed to iron out the bobbing of the needle, but its not great.

 

My Dads Freelander is dead stable, but its an expensive car (and way more than he needs for the M25).
