Deep blue here, I have JUST joined this forum & am in the process of buying a '96 (N) 2ltr Galaxy in deep blue, hence the name. It has 89K on it's little dial 'thingy', and I am paying

Thanks for the reply & the welcome. Sorry, but no more info at present. It is a family that bought it 6 months ago & they really don't want to sell it so they are keeping the other car & selling the 'Gal'. I would be interested to know what the b.h.p. for this car is (2.0. ltr petrol) for town use mainly although I will conduct my own tests to see if it comes up to scratch.

check for the usual

leaks & that the aircon is fully working

look under the passengers seat from the rear & see if there has been any water there as you got a control unit under there & it sometimes get's flooded.

Thanks for the info. 21-26m.p.g? Oh my aching wallet. My current Rover 416sli has a control box of some sort under the same seat, never had cause to look at it as yet. Yes, it is a 7 seater, ideal for my in-laws, dad, sister who are all a little tricky on their feet so it will be easier for them all to enter & exit. My sister-in-law has a rav 4 & it is surprisingly easy for them to get in & out of. I'll check out your suggestions, as I said, I haven't got my hands on her yet so will need to ask if I can have another look around. Thanks again m8.

That's a bit strong delboyt, you *did* claim 40+ mpg and deisel beating consumption around town. I note now you have ammended your post, do you accept you had miscalculated? if so then I think really it's you that owes a few apologies.

 

Furthermore you also stated
