Masked Marauder Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 The problem in sourcing replacements is the thickness of the arms. They are too wide for "regular" blades. I used a pair of 26 inch blades for a Volvo truck that I got for free...... Quote

rwtomkins Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 There's some confusion about the wiper blades. As far as I know the Mk 2 Galaxy blades are different from the Mk 1 blades. For a start, each of the MK 2 blades is the same length - they are both 28 inches. They are a new type of blade that's much thinner than a normal blade and are like just one long piece of rubber that bends right round into a letter C shape when you lift them off the screen. More precisely the Mk 2 blades are called Bosch Aerotwin and they are Bosch part number 950S. It appears from the Bosch website that these are also the original equipment. These blades appeared after the Mark 2 had been out for a couple of years (or more). Certainly X, Y and 51-plate Galaxys have the "traditional" type of wipers, a pair of 28 inch ones which may be curved. Guest Simon S Posted October 14, 2005 Report Posted October 14, 2005 The wiper on the back of my 2001 Galaxy leaves an arc at the top which is not cleared by the wiper. :P Does anyone else have this minor problem? :D Are the back wipers standard items or are they freaky like the front ones? Quote
Masked Marauder Posted October 14, 2005 Report Posted October 14, 2005 It is a known problem and there is an official Ford fix on the TIS. It is use a smaller blade...... Quote
