Guest ants1974 Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Anyone had this problem.....The PCM doesnt see a signal from the VSS(Speed sensor) The ford diagnostic system brings up a fault with the VSS but the speedo works perfectly. The instrument cluster processes the signal from the VSS and then forwards it to the PCM and the radio. Standard ford radio fitted, no obvious wiring problems. My problem is the instrument cluster is no longer available from ford and VW dont list it under the part number on the cluster. Anyone know of this problem? If not does anyone know someone who could repair the cluster in the northwest area? Thanks ;) Quote
Guest djm170865 Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 I have a similiar problem ( already posted it before I saw your message ). Is the VSS sensor located near the flywheel and work by picking up an inducton signal to determine speed ? My EMU has been reported spurious signals from this sensor but it has been replaced twice and it hasnt fixed the problem. The car will cut out for no reason and the coil light starts flashing. Once the codes are cleared down by SEAT, all is OK for a coule of months. Its really annoying and there is no obvious solution. SEAT recommended going to an auto electrician to try to trace a wiring fault. Any ideas or feedback appreciated. Dan Quote
