On VW's and several other manufacturers the radio is coded to the car, all this =means that if you frefit the unit into the car you wont need the code as the ECU recognises it and all is ok, if you stick in another OE unit you will need the code however! I have no problem with my VW T4 and T5 vans when I swap out the OE head unit or stick the original back in

try it and see, pull the unit and see if the car starts? quid says it will :D

Thanks, but I won't take the bet - cos I'll bet you are right

Any idea how to get the radio out of the Alhambra? - I don't have the four holes like the link you gave on getting the radio out of a focus :D

No obvious screws - nothing, except plastic trim. :D

Cheers.

Many thanks, steve - must admit reception is pretty good with just the lead - I'll try the place I bought the radio from - car audio direct.

Just found this - might be of interest to people thinking of upgrading - http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_in...07bb3f78773afe1

Just a quickie - Be grateful you don't have a Citroen Picasso, as if you swap the radio on those - the car will not start until the ECU is reprogrammed!!!!!!
