Hi all

Is there a relay or fuse for the central locking? Mine is completely dead all of a sudden. Also the immobiliser light on the drivers door no longer lights up. It getting to be a ral pain to manually open all the doors so I really want to get this fixed. Any help from you budding mechanicsc would be greatly appreciated. I reckon its just one silly fuse or something as it all went together with no gradual breakdown. Maybe something to do with the rear tailgate lock? Is this possible?

Yes, in a word..

Fuse number 30 in my Galaxy 97 2.8 v6. Do you have a Owners Handbook? if so and it's similar to mine see page 134

I wouldn't say It was that fuse though because your LED Alarm Light has gone. Thi sto me would suggest that the locking arm that opens and closes the door could of fallen down and taken a wire with it. I'm not 100% but at a guess It sounds like that

let us know eh.. Someone may also have an Internal diagram of the door that may help you, sorry I haven't

Hi Paul;

I've just located a wiring diagram for the galaxy. On the central locking you have a Electronic control unit, this unit is under the passengers seat on models up to 98. After 98 it's incorporated into the central junction box under the drivers side facia. The control unit wil have self diagnosis capability, you'll have to take it to Ford or possibly a Halfords garage, they will be able to tell you the fault than.. I would imagine they would charge you a fee.. maybe £15.00? is reasonable so Ford will charge you £35.00!

let me know how you get on eh! I'd give it a good clean first get the vacum out and hoover the part, It may only be dust or a loose connection..

have fun

Hi everyone

Thank you for your help. I tend to think that it is a fuse or relay problem as everything was fine until I tried to tinker around getting the number plate lights to work. Immediately after I tried to pin this out via the rear inspection panel, the central locking and immobiliser stopped working.

Hey shackers I don't think I have a number 30 fuse, least not according to the gumpf written on the cover of the fuse box. Where exactlly is that fuse. I have a 97 Tdi GLX so will this make a difference?

So need to know what the fuse 30 is and where also if its worth taking the door trim off to look inside to see if maybe a wire has come off but to be honest as Ive said I think I may have blown something when Pinning out although nothing unusual happened to indicate this.

Hey Mark have you resolved your tailight problem. It sounds very similar to mine. Let me know how you get on mstraxs. By the way mats are doing great and flattened out after some coaxing with vacum cleaner.

Thanks everyone

Paul ;)
