Check the wireing to it from the car body to the rear hatch through the rubber gaiters, it's a common failure

VR6galaxy, sorry to bring this topic back up again. Noted it was covered many times though doesn't give me the info i'm looking for.

i seems i have a similar problem with only the outer 2 diodes in the high level brakelight working and the rest doesn't (most of the time). Checked the wiring loom on the right hand/drivers side between roof and tailgate and there are about 15 cables in there; so, which one is it? Do you happen to know what the colour of the wire(s) for the high level brake light is?

Some of the high level brake lights are a series of lamps wired in parallel, you may have just just a couple of the lamps?

vr6galaxy,

tried the cables and found a black/red & a solid brown cable going to what i think is the high level brake light. Both cables looked in good nick (pulled and there were no white spots on the cable neither did is extend). Am at a loss what the bown cable is for. Any ideas? Do you have a copy of the wiring scheme that tells what cables in the loom are for what? All other lights (2*reverse, 2*fog, 2*number plate) worked.

On the high level brake light, 2 diodes on the outer left and 2 diodes on the outer right are working perfectly; only the 4 diodes in the middle don't work. ;)

I am at a loss. If it is the diodes that are broken i would have to replace them, however, how do you get to the high level brake light? Do you have anything on TIS regarding how to get to the high level brake light that you can copy/paste in? (believe GSMguy is an expert i that... ).

Your help and anybody elses for that matter would be much appreciated.
