Guest stevej Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 My rear window heater is not working, I've checked the fuse in the dash, thats ok, does this mean it's the relay ( Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Have you got a cheap voltmeter (Argos or Index used to sell them for about Quote
Guest stevej Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Cheers, It's a 96 (P) v6 Ghia X. Yes I have a meter of sorts, when you say check the volts at the window, could you simplify (imagine I'm a complete imbecile!!). With the bike rack, don't the Halfords Quote
Guest stevej Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Thanks Fredt, I'll have a go, thanks for spelling it out so comprehensively! CheersSteve Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Yes, thanks Fredt, for saving me the effort as I didn';t get back to the site until late.As for the bike racks - the Halfords ones may fit, could be worth asking to try them but you may need a new rear number plate depending on where the bikes sit, relative to the existing one. Also, a minor point this, but if you strap the bikes on, make sure that one strap goes through their wheels to stop them rotating when you drive along...and after you've driven a couple of miles, stop and re-tension the straps. It's surprising how much slack creeps in when the bikes move around as the car goes over our lovely rough roads! Quote
asimons Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Not a particularly cheap option, but I have a Thule 973 Backpac, which hooks over the top of the tailgate and bolts under the bottom. Holds the bikes above the lights and number plate, and doesn't move. But it costs Quote
