Tiptronic Auto Box Problems

Hi

Re my on going auto change problems, over reving in 3-4 and jerky gearchanges.

I found on the net in the daily telegraph motoring that VW tiptronic boxes are showing signs of problems with the valves that are in the box. Sounds like it is becoming a regognised problem.

any further info welcome.

 

ps changed my maf today -- like a new car.......

Mine has had 2 boxes and 3 valve bodies!!! But - it ain't a VW box, it's made by Jatco - Japanese Auto Trans Co, and they fit the same type of box in the rover 74, MGF and others, they are all crap too!

any ideas what the cost to fix the valves is?

Would be useful to have a chat any chance of a number?

Does anybody know of an auto box repairer who you can reccommend/ trust/ knows what they are doing with this box who is in the south west.

 

Via mike on the forum i have found a firm in Merseyside which is an 8 hr trip who fit the bill but its a bit of a run.

 

Any ideas?
