wjfe Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 does anybody know why fords stopped painting the plastic trim on the Galaxys doors (the bit down towards the bottom)? Has anyone successfully had them painted (so it does not all flake off) Cheers Bill Quote
Guest ajaycad Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Had a Vauxhall Astra that had grey plastic bumpers, and the dealer had them re-sprayed to match the body colour, so it can be done but I should imagine that you will have to use special "flexible" paint. We actually part-exe'd the car for our Galaxy and the paint was flake free after two years of ownership. Quote
Masked Marauder Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 You need to use a silicone remover, and then a plastic primer (this is a clear spray)and then paint that has had plasticisers added. Bumpers are much easier, they are prime and paint. Quote
