On facelifted models, each side of the dash-top central storage "bin" has a serrated vertical "partition". It looks as if some sort of accessory should fit into it - perhaps a pen holder. Does anyone know what these serrated bits are?

Perhaps it's for storing sticks of celery. Haha

Ford beat Vauxhall yet again! If you saw Clarkson's review of the new Vauxhall on Sunday's Top Gear you'll understand the joke.

Yes, I saw that too.

Now all we need to do is find somewhere to store the german helmet with the spike on top (remember 'Allo, Allo?).!!!

The older model has a similar slot that look like a pen holder in the door of the top glove box. Any one know what it is for?

Eddie

I think that holds the screwdriver (the one where the metal shaft has a flat one end and star the other and turns around for slotting in the handle).

I can confirm the centre storage bin serrated edges holds pound coins.

My centre storage bin contains the screen for my Clarion SATNAV

Funny thing is a pen does actually fit in it, so I use it to hold a pen!

True, it's a diesel - I used to do it for the petrol car too! :D

I like to see how much I'm saving.

Really, it's just a sad, sad habit I have. :D

Oh, there's another use for the book...

Taking down the names and addresses of the bod who's just run into you.

And also supermarket lists from the missus. :D
