Guest jtwonk Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 Can anyone tell me if it possible to reprogramme the rear parking sensors to take into account a bike rack mounting plate? Is this possible as DIY ? How much is it at dealers? ThanksJonathan  :P :P Quote
Guest jtwonk Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 Is this system a self learning system. Basically the rear parking sensors were giving a conatant tone when in reverse then after a couple of days they seem to have "learnt" that the cycle rack is now part of the car & does not trigger the sensors. So all is well for now. PS bike rack is excellent for the money as it fits 4 bikes & once the cycle rack base plate is fitted it's only a couple of minutes to fit!!!! :D :o :o :ll: :D :( :o :o :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D Quote
Ivor Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 I thought this was the case, since they seem to have learned that my towbar was fitted after a few days, but I've been told they are not self learning??? :P They now ignore my towbar, self learning or not. Quote
GSMGuy Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Mine ignore my bar - but don't like it when it rains lol.. Mike Quote
ridway Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 I dont think there self learning, it sounds as though you may be right on the trigger threshold. Mine go off when it rains and I also have a tow bar. I had a chance to play with a VAG COM cable a short while ago and you can adjust each sensors' individual sensitivity setting; which I thought was pretty cool. So you can almost set it how you wish. In fact , having not seen the VAG COM, or any other OBD system before, I was quite impressed with its power as a tool. I would express caution when using or altering things though. Rich Quote
