BrummyGit Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 I've just ordered a Galaxy TDi 150 Ghia with the Technology Pack option. This includes xenon headlights. Does anyone know if they are xenon or bi-xenon headlights on the Galaxy? Does anyone have them - are you pleased with them? Thanks Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Going by the fact that no where in the brochure does it say bi-xenon and says xenon headlights several times , I'd hazard a guess and say.............................? oh! and the fact that the main beam bulb is a H7 halogen bulb should narrow the answer down to........................ xenon  Quote
GSMGuy Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Std fit are Xenons... Mine however has Bi-Xenons  :D :D It's like having the road floodlit form above!! Mike Quote
johnb80 Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 Mine has the standard fit HID's, it's on dipped beam only and you could do with Sungalsses at night for some of the reflective roadsigns, you will not be disappointed. Regards - JB Quote

I think these will make me happy enough though :P Quote

Mike I guess yours are aftermarket then? Is there a thread somewhere with more details of the cost, fitment etc? I may look at upgrading the H7 main beams with real xenon conversions (not blue bulbs) - just the bulbs and associated electronics, not reflectors. Can the standard fit dipped beams be adjusted for use in europe without spending a fortune at a Ford dealer? Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 It's a case of removeing the head light and flicking a switch on the back of the unit, this flicks a cover over the lamp and converts it to continental driveing, just a quick tip! try useing the search engine all these topics are covered  Quote
GSMGuy Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 Have a look at this thread.. http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...wtopic=4327&hl= Mike Quote
tim-spam Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Is it possible to convert the standard H7 dipped beams for use in Europe without using the stick-on rubbish? I can guess the answer......., but some years ago, I had a VW Beetle with Cibie headlight units, and all you had to do was remove the bulbs, rotate slightly and re-insert and they dipped perfectly to the right. Guest vr6galaxy Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 I can guess the answer......., you guessed right  Occasionally LHD drive lights for the Mk2 pop up on ebay, could be option haveing a spare set stashed away for the trips abroad? Quote
