Can this sort of damage be fixed? If so, by whom and how do they do it? Any recommendations near central London? It's ruinously expensive, I presume. Quote

LOZ Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 My husband and I spent many many years working for an alloy wheel manufacturer based in Telford. I shall not tell you the name because it went bust 2 years ago!! He use to refurb wheels on the cheap - foreigners!!! Poly and paint lifting can be rectified by having the wheel stripped or sand blasted and then re-primered, painted. BUT... this kind of `damage' could be down to porosity in the wheel so in time it will happen again! Kerbing and other facial damage can be machined out to an extent but you can only machine so much off the front face. If I did need my wheels doing I'd ask a wheel manufacturer first whether they would fix it! nudge nudge wink wink! Quote
