Radio Codes

Have put in code for radio (6000 series) several times as described in owners manual but will not accept, now on screen appears WAIT -30.00 and counts down from 30 minuites until you can try again - does anyone know an overide/way around this or do I have to call Frauds - Cheers

No way round it B) and you only have 10 attempt to input the correct code and then your locked out :) are you sure you have the correct code? and are inputting it correctly?

sounds like the wrong code.send me the serial number off the radio and i will give you the correct code

the guy who started this topic emailed me with his serial number.I checked it and the code he has is correct,so any other ideas folks?

(to help me explain what i think, i will use the code 3672 as an example)

 

to enter the code, you only use buttons 1, 2, 3, & 4

so to enter the first digit "3"

you have to press button 1 "3" times

then to enter the second digit "6"

you have to press button 2 "6" times

 

and so on, i think 2.4children must of been doing it another way, thus entering a different code?

i wanted to change the code on mine, but i don't think you can, can you?

 

just a thought, on my T reg, i lost the code as you do, and a quick call to frauds, and they told me what it was.

I have to say I'm a little concerned about the offers to give a radio code so freely. This guy who I'm sure is most likely to be genuine is a newbie on here requesting a radio code, you guys are falling over yourselves to help which is nice. It does somewhat devalue the security code theft prevention somewhat don't you think?

Matt, there is an app available for free (if you know where to look) or can be bought on Ebay - that will give you the codes for a whole host of makes and models of radio..

the ford series of radios that are oversized can not have the code changed as the are set chips unlike vauxhalls [sorry to swear] that are rewriteable iproms :lol:

I agree it's up to them what they do, the only point I'm making (no offence to 2.4children) he's a new user, we know nothing about him, he could potentially have a stolen radio and the guys on here are falling over themselves to decode it. Now if it was vr6galaxy or Ivor E Tower or any of the well known ones on here - no problem - we know not give the code out to them :lol:

Yes John, i know what your thinking, and it is also something that crossed my mind, BUT, those with the software to crack the codes from a serial number, also asked 2.4childern to send the code and the serial number, so they could check it, if the code was different, ime sure they would not of given the true code.

I had the same problem after a flat battery, I discovered the Radio had been changed under warranty. I rang the dealer who changed it and they gave me the new code - no mention of crossing their palms with silver. Well done to Lawtons of Tadcaster.

Ive just found the code CDs on ebay. so now i cant understand why we bother with the codes anyway?

 

If anyone can buy these Cds, which tells you the code, what is the point?

Bought my son a 51 plate Ford Focus which needed a new starter motor under warrenty which was promtely replaced. This was all through a leading main agent although not a ford one local to us ( Honda Main agent , part of same group.)

Went on E Bay and obtained a progamme to give us the radio code which we needed as the previous owner had not left the key code in the drivers pack.

Just a follow up after reading through this thread.

I had the same problem - no radio code (or any other documentation) from dealer and no radio following a visit to the repairers for a new driveshaft.

A quick google search got me a FREE code calculator, bang in radio serial number and bingo!! working radio code. Took about 10 minutes, which just goes to show if its that easy why bother with a code at all?

Anyone got any idea why the garage would disconnect the battery to fit a new drive shaft?
