Hi,

can anyone tell me where the fuel solenoid(s), are located?

The car has been to ford for a replacement fuel solenoid which they said was faulty, but less than a hundred miles later I have the same fault where the car refuses to start.

The garage reckons there are 2 solenoids and only 1 needed replacing.

Any help appreciated

Never knew such things were used on petrol, lpg yes but petrol not as far as I know. Usually the intermittent go / nogo is down to a relay (number 30 if my memory serves me correct).

I'm sure some of the others will respond, have a dig around the relays, give em a tap with a screwdriver handle and see if that brings it back to life.

Hi John,

Yes, on the diagnostic report it says solenoid, but the parts fitted says fuel pump relay.

Double check the relay connections, it's not unknown for the wiring to deteriorate behind the base. Typical dealer ripoff that sort of charge, wonder if they really did change the relay?

You were right about was it changed or not.

Number 30 relay, the case is cracked where the cover has been taken off, and then put back. No new relay insight.

If some one colud let me know the relay numbers, that would be helpful.

I dont have a manual, I will get one tomorrow.

Even though the relay is the original, I have tested it and it works fine.

I will check the wiring behind it tomorrow as it is too dark for me to see.

Thanks

Chris.
